Home Staging is not a new concept. It started over 30 years ago in the U.S. and has now become a worldwide trend, popular in England, France and Sweden. It has become known relatively recently in Spain although it is certainly becoming quite popular in the Balearics.

Basically, it is the use of certain tecniques to optimise the look of your property. Setting the Scene to make it look more attractive and therefore sell quickly. Here are the main steps:

Because potential buyers do not want to see how others live in that house: they want to imagine what their lives would be like living in that home. Its real possibilities, its value and its unique features. The main mission of Home Staging is to get the highest number of potential buyers to like the house and, in order to achieve this, all traces of former occupants which might “undermine” the sale must be removed.
